For supervisors, project managers, and anyone who must deal effectively and professionally with employees, subtrades, owners, clients, engineers, and employers. 

  • Improve your written, oral, and negotiating skills and enhance your conflict resolution skills. 
  • Define a conflict and identify the stages of conflict. 
  • Appreciate the importance of communication. 
  • Apply assertiveness techniques to get a point across. 
  • Deal with difficult people more effectively. 
  • Recognize what makes an effective negotiator. 
  • Understand how power can be used or abused in negotiation.
  • Determine when to close negotiations. 

This course uses interactive elements, scenarios, videos, and quizzes to reinforce learning.


Structure and Workload

This course consists of 9 lessons of approximately 35 minutes duration each, for a total of about 5 hours of self-paced instruction.


Credits/Certificates

A final mark of 100% is required in order to receive a certificate of completion. This course has been accredited by the following programs:

  • This course has been accredited by the Canadian Construction Association (CCA) to two (2) credit towards Gold Seal Certification upon successful completion of this course. A final mark of 100% is required in order to receive a certificate of completion.

This course is worth 2 Gold Seal Credits
