Course description

The 2-day course starts by introducing quality and quality management. The course takes a proactive approach to quality by building it in rather than doing inspection later. For example, it is better to engage the best engineering firm available rather than choosing the lowest bidder and then monitor their work closely. The course addresses quality as it applies to construction and project management. It concludes with an introduction to quality auditing. Quality auditing is very essential to ensure construction projects are carried out to meet the quality standard and Organization policies.

  • Apply quality management approach in all project components and phases

  • Describe the consequences of not meeting the quality requirement/standards.
  • Raise own quality awareness as well as his/her team

Course delivery approach

  • The 2-day course is delivered on-line instructor-Led, live on zoom
  • The sessions are interactive, participants contributions are expected and welcomed
  • Each day is divided into Sections, varies between an hour to two hours
  • Each session includes lecturing c/w examples, learning activities and group discussions
  • Be prepared to share your opinion to enhance common understanding
  • There is a 10-minute breaks every hour

  • Desktop/laptop is required. Dual monitors are recommended. No phones please.
  • Microphone, speaker, and webcam are required

INSTRUCTOR BIO

· Dr. Fahmy is the president of Performance Excellence Institute (PEI). A training and consulting firm located in Edmonton, Alberta. PEI is specialized in supporting organizations through providing expertise and training in project management, risk management, and communication skills.

· Dr. Fahmy is a P.Eng. PMP, RPM.CCM, CBC+, CSM, DASM, DTM, ATP(PMI). He is a retired adjunct professor from U of A where he taught Construction Project Management, Construction management, Contract Administration, Risk Management, and Interpersonal Communication Skills courses.
