Collaborative Contracts 2025: Celebrated Choice or Continuing Conundrum (November 13, 2025)

November 13, 2025 (9:00 AM - 10:00 AM) (MST)

Description

Purpose:

The objective is to equip attendees with an understanding, based on our recent experience, of when and how to implement these models, and the potential benefits they offer for complex, high-stakes projects.

Workshop Overview:

This presentation explores the growing use of collaborative contracting models—including Integrated Project Delivery (IPD), Alliance, and Progressive Design-Build—as alternatives to traditional delivery approaches. Designed for owners, contractors, subcontractors, and consultants, the session will focus on the structures, principles, and practical considerations that make these models both effective and uniquely challenging. Key areas of discussion include risk allocation, incentives, governance frameworks, and the impacts of transparency. Participants will gain insight into how collaborative contracts can improve project outcomes by reducing adversarial relationships, enhancing innovation, controlling costs, and promoting common interests.
