A Construction project is a complex operation. It usually involves numerous stakeholders with a variety of competing interests. Regardless of whether you are an owner, contractor, subcontractor, or consultant, you need to be aware of why claims arise and how to prevent them from becoming a dispute. You also need to know how to properly submit a claim to make it easy for the receiving party to understand and deal with it. The workshop will equip you with all the above.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

You will learn the basics of claims preparation, submission, analysis, evaluation, and approval. By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Formulate best way to present a construction claim to the receiving party
  • Recognize the best way to review claims
  • Choose the most appropriate approach to resolve construction claims
  • Identify causes of construction claims and predict its acceptability
  • Recognize warning signs of possible claims and how to prevent them
  • Develop awareness of every party's role in preventing claims

This workshop is intended for representative of owners, consultants, contractors, and subcontractors.


Course format and delivery approach

  • The 2-day course is delivered on-line instructor-Led, live on zoom
  • The sessions are interactive, participants contributions are expected and welcomed
  • Each day is divided into Sections, varies between an hour to two hours
  • Each session includes lecturing c/w examples, learning activities and group discussions
  • There is a 10-minute breaks every hour


Computer System Needed

  • Desktop/laptop is required. Dual monitors are recommended. No phones please.
  • Microphone, speaker, and webcam are required.
  • Be prepared to share your cam to enhance communication and understanding.
  • High speed internet connection is recommended.
  • Familiarity with google documents and sheets are recommended
