Strategic Planning For Growth (November 13, 2024)

November 13, 2024 9:30 AM - November 14, 2024 1:30 PM (MST)

Description

Business success is not an accident, it is planned – yet, very few construction companies regularly practice any type of strategic planning. This Strategic Planning course, designed exclusively for Canadian Contractors, will transform your company. It isn’t a miracle cure; it’s a program that teaches the fundamentals of strategic planning to construction professionals.

If you are interested in growing your construction company, you need to ensure that you have a good growth strategy. For that, you need a strategic plan to expand your capacity, make better profits, ensure success and build a better company.

Some preliminary questions:

Does your company have strengths that are an advantage over your competition?

Does your company have weaknesses that are unnecessarily holding you back?

Does your company have opportunities within your market that you might pursue?

Does your company have unknown threats that you need to address?

This strategic planning course is based on a hypothetic, privately-owned company whose three principal shareholders have grown their company into one of the foremost mechanical contractors in the province. With annual revenues of $25M, the shareholders recognize that operations and profits are stable and feel that now is a prime time to grow the company. To move to the next level they will need to do a SWOT analysis and create and implement three comprehensive plans. This course teaches all the required procedures to create a comprehensive growth plan.

A SWOT analysis is a great tool that makes it easier to think through every aspect of your company’s strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats and is the first step in developing a strategic plan. By examining 90 different issues in your company you will create a matrix with each of the four elements ranked. When the SWOT Matrix is completed, we will develop planned strategies together with a monitoring and reporting system to track progress.
