Discover the art of influencing others and unveil the key to your success in your personal and professional lives. As project managers, influence is a constant requirement, shaping both your personal and project environments. Whether convincing a client of a groundbreaking idea, initiating relationships with new clients, or gstting support for your proposals during business meetings, mastering the skill of influence is indispensable. This course will help you master it.

DESCRIPTION:

This one-day workshop delves deeply into the pivotal role of influence for project managers. It introduces a repertoire of tools and techniques focused on refining influencing skills. Participants will learn to exert influence in both personal and project spheres.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

Upon completing this one-day workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Create a lasting first impression for maximum influence.
  • Utilize skills and confidence, rather than relying on position and power, to influence others.
  • Enhance effectiveness, professional impact, and personal credibility.
  • Explain how to positively influence other project stakeholders with confidence.
  • Identify the right influencing techniques for face-to-face or remote interactions.
  • Evaluate successful working relationships to discover practical ways to improve them.
  • Describe creative approaches to gaining project stakeholders' buy-in.
  • Apply all tools to real project examples.

WORKSHOP FORMAT AND METHODOLOGY:

Participants will engage in hands-on learning through in-class exercises, role-playing, video demos, practice sessions, and case studies. The facilitator ensures a dynamic learning experience, effectively achieving course objectives.

INFLUENCING SKILLS SURVIVAL TOOLKIT:

Participants will take home a practical reference booklet containing course material for future use. This booklet is a compilation of the tools used in the workshop.

 

COURSE DELIVERY APPROACH

  • This One-day course is delivered on-line instructor-Led, live on zoom.
  • The sessions are interactive, participants’ contributions are expected and welcomed.
  • The day is divided into Sections, varies between an hour to two hours
  • Each session includes lecturing c/w examples, learning activities and group discussions.
  • Be prepared to share your opinion to enhance common understanding.
  • There is a 10-minute break every hour.


DELIVERY SCHEDULE

Course start at 8:30 AM and ends at 4:30 PM with one hour lunch break

 

COMPUTER SYSTEM NEEDED

  • Desktop/laptop is required. Dual monitors are recommended. No phones please.
  • A microphone, speaker, and webcam are required.
  • Be prepared to share your camera to enhance communication and understanding.
  • High speed internet connection is recommended.

Familiarity with google documents and sheets are recommended

  • Understanding the pivotal role influence plays in the lives of project managers.
  • Exploring qualities of an effective influencer.
  • Utilizing "DOPE" behavior styles for effective persuasion.
  • Understanding decision-making styles and motivations.
  • Crafting and delivering compelling messages.
  • Making a strong first impression, building credibility, and improving perceptions.
  • Choosing your own influence style.

AFTERNOON SESSION:

  • Exploring different influencing styles.
  • Unveiling 7 powerful persuasion strategies.
  • Utilizing 5 tools and techniques to overcome resistance and pushbacks.
  • Navigating challenging situations through case studies.
  • Persuading your boss.
  • Persuading your project team and stakeholders.
  • Persuading your client.
